The Jeronimos Monastery is Lisbon's most visited monument — skip-the-line spots sell out fast, especially in spring and summer. Book in advance and avoid the crowds.
“Rafael was one of the best guides I have ever had. He is kind, intelligent, and speaks fluent, understandable English. I would recommend this tour to anyone in a heartbeat.”
“In the case of the Jeronimos Monastery, booking a guided tour is the single best thing you can do to make the most of your visit.”

“What a great experience we had with Rafael yesterday - he’s so incredibly knowledgeable about Portugese history, and the history and architecture of the monastery itself … most thrilling for us is his passion for the details he shares. Excellent tour! I highly recommend Rafael!!.”

“Rafael is an incredibly knowledgeable guide for the Jeronimos Monastery. For two and half hours, he provided the historical contexts and the detailed explanation of what we were looking at. It is difficult to appreciate what you're looking at in this place and the significance of this historical site without a knowledgeable guide providing the historical background and pointing out the key sights. He was able to answer all our questions and he gave us recommendations on where to go after the tour. In addition, he took care of the tickets and during the busy season, you will be able to skip the line. We could not recommend Rafael enough. Do not waste your time by showing up and walking through without understanding what you're seeing and why this was built.”

“My husband and I scheduled a tour with Rafael. He had us meet outside the monastery entrance before they opened for two reasons: the line would get very long and there was extra time to teach us about the history and important things to consider before we entered. Beside the amazing structure, which is just magnificent and almost breathtaking, Rafael could point out and explain things I would not have noticed. His knowledge, fascination, and appreciation are abundant, and we were lucky to have him as our guide.”
